Former WWE Superstar Chyna was found dead Wednesday at her home in Los Angeles ... this according to her manager.

Sources close to the situation tell us she's been on medication for anxiety and sleep deprivation -- and people close to her are worried her personal demons got the best of her.

We're told she's also been filming a documentary and going through a whirlwind of emotions.

Chyna first debuted for the company in 1997 appearing alongside Triple H, and was a key figure in the original incarnation of D-Generation X. She went on to win the Intercontinental Championship multiple times and posed for Playboy in 2000.

The ex-wrestler also starred on the Surreal Life in in 2005 and Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew in 2008.

In recent years, Chyna had returned home after living in Japan and was trying to rally fans behind a petition to get her in the WWE Hall of Fame.

She was 45.

UPDATE: According to TMZ, Chyna had been dead for at least a day and the last known contact she had with anyone was on Sunday.  A friend went to check on her yesterday and found the ex-wrestler unresponsive in the bedroom of her home.

The website also reports that prescribed medication was found in the house, but the bottles weren't emptied and it doesn't appear to be a suicide at this point.

Cops say there are no signs of foul play, but both neighbors and friends are suspecting an overdose is possible based on her history and recent behavior.
